Overview Book

Ability Housing is a non-profit organization that believes when people have a safe home, they lead more productive, happier lives. They are challenging the status quo on solving America’s homelessness by offering permanent, affordable housing and individualized support services.

Their work is changing lives in Jacksonville and Central Florida, and it was a pleasure to work on their overview book outlining their mission, vision, values, approach, and showcasing some of the individuals and families whose lives are forever changed by the opportunity Ability Housing has given them.

I was responsible for the overall layout and design of the book, including some photo color correction and retouching. I also suggested the title and subtitle on the cover, which the client felt was a perfect introduction to their cause.

Annual Report and Infographic

The annual report for Ability Housing was kept to a simple front-and-back sheet with the year’s vital details. They wanted it to be visually appealing, on-brand, and comprehensive.

I illustrated their key outcomes as a clean infographic using their brand colors and a visual style that was carried into the overview book seen above.

The piece was rounded out with the letter from their Executive Director on the back, as well as a list of the Board of Directors and supporters.

E-Newsletter Template

Ability Housing had an established history of emailing their newsletter subscribers through Constant Contact. They handed over the keys to allow me to make a new template that matched their brand and gave them more flexibility than their previous version.

They requested options for stories with left- and right-facing images, a longer showcase story with a larger image, options for social sharing, a place to draw attention to upcoming events, and a block to encourage subscribers to make Ability Housing their non-profit choice when making online purchases through AmazonSmile.

This email template was built entirely in Constant Contact, with the accompanying images edited and optimized through Photoshop.
